Unfortunately as the lifting of restrictions won’t take place until the 19th July, the first social meeting planned for the 14th will not now take place. Instead we should be able to meet at the Aviator on 25th July 2021.

The Aviator at Sywell has re-opened and has confirmed the club’s booking of a room for the mid-monthly meetings. They would expect members to arrive from 1930 (7:30 pm) and the dates booked are –
- Wednesday 14th July
- Wednesday 11th August
- Wednesday 8th September
- Wednesday 13th October
- Wednesday 10th November
- Wednesday 8th December
All is, of course, subject to the Government making no changes to the planned “road map” out of restrictions.

The Social Committee had had its first, virtual, meeting of 2021 and they are developing plans for the remainder of the coming year and into next year. They welcome suggestions from members.
A “rerun of the not run” 2020 2021 Rose of the Shires is being planned. This would be a much shorter (35 – 40 mile) run for members only.
Thanks for all of you that attended the virtual AGM on the 31st March. Let’s hope this is the first and last virtual AGM event! But given the current situation it was great to note the extent of what we had been able to achieve over the last year. If you have not seen the details, the report produced by Ade forms part of the AGM pack.
I should also like to thanks the retiring members of the committee; Val Arnold, who has supported the club in various roles for many years, and Roy Brawn, for all their work in helping run the club. We do welcome a new member to the committee in Richard Atley, and we thank him for his support, and look forward to his contribution. Jo Tibbs has kindly agreed to step into the role of Treasurer, and Penny and Anthony Reading will remain on the committee. I will remain as Chairman and Ade as Vice Chairman, changes to committee roles and posts will be published in due course.

Thanks are also due to Anthony Reading who maintains the web page, Ken Banfield without whom there would not be a Newsletter, and Mary Medhurst who stores the clubs equipment. I would also like to thank all the members without which there would not be a club.
We will as we have been mentioned be having an open forum when we can meet again, and I would like everyone to have a think if they can help the club as fresh ideas are always welcomed. Both Ade (Lunn) and myself confirmed at the AGM we would not be standing as Chairman and Vice Chairman again at the end of this year. So everyone’s thoughts as to the running of the club, events to attend, etc etc will be most welcomed.
We will be trying to organise an event for club members to replace the ROS 2021, possibly running again a route from previous years, given the current situation we do not have a date for this, but will keep everyone informed.
We are looking to hold a further Club zoom meeting on the 21st April starting at 19:30, all are welcome and hopefully some of our members foreign shores will be able to take part, The details are below, I will also send out the details again nearer the time.
The 2021 AGM will take place on Wednesday 31st March 2021, starting at 20:00.
As unfortunately we do not expect to be able to meet at The Aviator, the AGM will take place on Zoom, the meeting login details will be sent with the AGM papers nearer the time.
Given the limiting factors of Zoom whilst there will be opportunity for questions, we will look to hold an open forum, at a club meeting when we are all allowed to meet again.
If anyone is unfamiliar with Zoom please speak to a member of the committee, but Zoom, if you have not used it, is a computer meeting, able to operate on almost any computer or smartphone.
If anyone would like to join the Committee and is unsure please again speak to a member of the Committee.
The lockdown restrictions imposed by Government, to try and reduce the transmission of Covid 19, which may run into March 2021, means a Zoom AGM meeting is the only practical plan.
The AGM will be held on Wednesday 17 March 2021. The More Graffiti newsletter will have further information along with the Agenda, minutes of the 2020 meeting etc.
Any members who haven’t used Zoom or are experiencing problems with doing so are asked to contact one of the Committee for any help required. If you don’t have a web cam it is still possible to join in, the other attendees just won’t see you, and you should be able to see and hear us.
Up-date 6th January 2021
A on-line meeting of the club’s committee was held on the evening of 5th January 2021. This meeting was planned before the Government’s announcement about a further lockdown on Monday evening.
During the meeting, and after extensive conversations the committee decided to postpone the Rose of the Shires Run planned for May 16th 2021 until May 15th 2022.
The reasoning for this decision was the uncertainty, that by May, an event such as the Rose of the Shires would be allowed, The venue for the proposed start and finish is not currently open and may not be until well into March so leaving little time to find another venue if necessary.
We will start, as soon as we are able, planning for the Rose of the Shires to be held on May 15th 2022.
If the situation changes during the year and runs can be arranged then we would plan to hold a small club only event along the lines of the Rose of the Shires, ie a run of 60 plus miles around the county, but without the attendance of other clubs and entrants.
This is regrettable, but the committee felt that is was best to make the decision early rather than having to pull the event close to the planned date.
The Rose of the Shires WILL be back in 2022, put May 15th 2022 into your diaries.
