Thank you for organising another great event. It was a very picturesque route and well organised. The Sywell jam was only a little hicough and certainly did not spoil our enjoyment.
We would like to express our thanks to you and your team for a most enjoyable day out around the Northamptonshire countryside. Our thanks also for allowing the MX5 to infiltrate your MG event. Order the sunshine and we will be there next year!
I would just like to say it was an amazing run yesterday, the road map was great, loved the signs they really helped. Heather enjoyed the fun local facts, they made map reading much more interesting for her.
Cheers an excellent run
A lovely route and my thanks to the sponsors, Committee, organisers and able volunteers for making all this possible.
Thanks for a great Rose of the Shires run yesterday. Once again we enjoyed a well-organised day, a scenic route through lovely countryside, an informative route book and a very worthy charity to support. Thanks for your hard work. Even the weather was well planned! We enjoyed our day and look forward to seeing you again next year.
…thanking you and your colleagues for organising such a lovely day. Enjoyed the route but you can’t be held responsible for the traffic jam at Sywell . The finish at the Garden Centre Whilton was good with a nice choice of food to be had and topped with glorious weather. Thank you and see you all in 2024.
...many congratulations on a superb event today..throughly enjoyable dispite the road surfaces...beyond our control of course. The Road Book.possibility the best ever..well laid out and very informative , so many people who do runs forget that aspect Pass on our congratulations to all involved in organising the event....our friends from Moulton enjoyed the day...as did Chris from Cambs Area.
“Amazing organisation - what a fabulous team” “Thank you for organising which was probably the most varied and interesting route of any Rose rally I have been on. Well done all”

With beautiful weather at the beginning of the day a great run was anticipated.

Some 60 cars were booked for the run although there were a couple who wondered whether they would get to the start having been caught up in the traffic heading to a super car event at Sywell. The same traffic caused problems on the actual run as the route brought the entrants back into Sywell.

On the Saturday there were concerns about the route as our Club Secretary, Richard Atley, ran into a road closure between Stoke Bruene and Blisworth. After some frantic work with online maps Richard and Lyn were guided back to Roade and then through to Blisworth via another road. Tony  and Penny Reading, after checking the road round Roade and noting the sign posts, headed home and quickly wrote a page of amendments for the route book. Unfortunately the amended route missed out Stoke Bruene.

With cars arriving at Whilton Locks Garden Centre the organising team were able to relax and enjoy the continuing sunshine.

Feedback received so far has been really positive with several entrants expressing interest in returning for next year’s run and at least one membership in prospect.

Our supported charity is the Air Ambulance and whilst at Whilton we we able to see the helicopter in action due to an incident at the nearby karting venue.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped both on the day and in the background, and thanks in particular to all the sponsors whose generosity allowed the club to run the event.

Finally thanks to all the entrants, without whom this wouldn’t have happened, lets hope we’ll see you next year.
