So we have completed the 2024 Rose of the Shires in beautiful weather, starting at Wellingborough Old Grammarians’ Memorial Sports Field with registration, buying raffle tickets and with the obligatory bacon roll and coffee. Thanks to all the staff at the Old Grammarians.
After a run of approximately 72 miles through a sunny Northamptonshire the entrants arrived at New Lodge Farm, Bulwick where the raffle prizes for the lucky ones awaited collection. Our thanks to Simon and Sarah and all their staff at New Lodge Farm for putting on a Hog Roast as well as their lunches and drinks. It was very busy at the farm as not only were some 45 cars from the Rose of the Shires there but also a number of vehicles from the 20-49 Club and the normal Sunday customers. Thanks to the New Lodge staff who “policed” the entrance and guided the vehicles into their relevant parking areas. The field was dry and firm despite the very wet winter and so there were no problems with getting all the cars into the field and more importantly out again.
Thanks to all our sponsors and most importantly the entrants, without whom the Rose of the Shires simply wouldn’t happen.
Planning is now starting for the 2025 Rose of the Shires and we hope to see you all back then, please tell your friends about the day out you had.
